ONE TRUCK.
ONE DURABLE COMPOSTABLE BAG.
A ONE-OF-KIND A PROGRAM.
Organix Co-Collection™ Program
Organix Solutions pioneered Organix Co-Collection™, a patented method that eliminates the need for additional carts, trucks and routes to collect organics. Over 50 communities in Minnesota have implemented this organics program and more are signing on.
Residents source separate their food waste and food-soiled compostable papers from their kitchen in a Green Bag Organix compostable bag, and place it in the same cart with the trash for pick up on a regular trash day. The hauler does their normal route. The organics-filled compostable bags are then separated from the trash at a transfer station, then the compostable bags are delivered to a commercial composting facility.
The Green Bag is durable, leak proof and tear resistant, and is designed to withstand compaction in a standard rear or side-load truck. Now a single waste collection vehicle can collect both organics and general waste in a single trip. Eliminating the need for multiple trucks, on even a relatively small scale, provides a significant economic and environmental impact. Green Bag Organix compostable bags are BPI certified compostable in a commercial composting facility.
Organix Co-Collection is designed to make it easy for everyone to recycle food scraps and food-soiled papers. Co-Collection saves on costs associated with organics recycling and collection, reduces road congestion and GHG emissions.
Removing organics from the municipal solid waste stream (MSW) is a sustainable practice and opens up needed capacity at incinerators and landfills in areas like New England.
